About

P2 Ops, Pragmatic PRINCE2.

A proof-of-concept help site for project managers who need a practical next action, not another methodology lecture.

What this site is for

P2 Ops turns PRINCE2-style control into plain-English operating help. It is for project managers who need to choose what to control, what to report, what to tailor, and what to do next.

The site favours small useful actions over methodology theatre: run a diagnostic, pick a control level, find a template, prepare a report, escalate clearly, or close cleanly.

Proof of concept

Produced by Duane Wilkins as a proof of concept using ChatGPT research and Codex.

It may not be useful to anyone for anything, but hopefully it is. Treat it as experimental, clean-room guidance rather than official PRINCE2 material.

About Duane

Practical project, mapping, and capability work.

Duane Wilkins is a Wellington-based geospatial professional and project manager who has worked with geography, mapping, and GIS since the late 1990s. Public profiles describe his work supporting decision making, planning, communication, and capability building so teams can do practical work themselves.

His background includes work across central government, local government, community projects, and international project management roles. That mix is why this site leans toward pragmatic controls, clear decisions, and useful communication.

Principles

Practical usefulness over theory.
Minimum useful templates before full documents.
Tailorable controls by size, risk, pace, suppliers, governance, and project condition.
Plain English over method jargon.
Original clean-room content only.
Static-first, fast, and privacy-respecting.

Important note

PRINCE2 is referenced descriptively. P2 Ops is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by PeopleCert or AXELOS. Use your own judgement, organisational standards, and professional advice where the stakes are high.
